- In 1995, a psychiatrist described my cluster of symptoms as "Social Autism". I thought he had made the idea up. In 2009, I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Some people question the need for a "label". My answer: I can finally let go of all the guilt, fear, anxiety and pain I have carried with me all my life.
